Pole-Mounted System with Dual-Axis Tracking
This is a dual axis tracking system in Acton, ON which uses sensors to optimize energy production by tracking the sun as it moves through the sky. Due to the technology involved, capital costs are greater for this type of system.
The owners of this system have been selling all of the electricity it produces to the grid through Halton Hills Hydro since January 2010. The revenue from January to July 2010 is about $9,000. The system was installed by Solar Direct Canada. They have created an online monitoring web page for this system at http://sdc1.solarvu.net/green/solarVu.php?ac=sdc1. There is also a video on that website to show the tracker operation.
