The OCAA's short-term goal is to achieve the complete phase-out of Ontario's four coal-fired power plants by 2010. Their long-term goal is to ensure that all of our electricity needs are met by ecologically sustainable renewable sources. Their three-pronged strategy to achieve their goals consists of:
- promoting energy conservation and efficiency
- promoting the further development of renewable energy sources
- promoting the use of natural gas as a transition fuel for electricity or for combined heat and power generation.
