June 2010 Public Information Meetings
Interested in solar or geothermal energy for your home or community? HERE! is here to assist you.
HERE! is Halton Enablers of Renewable Energy, a project of the Halton Environmental Network (HEN). HERE! is pleased to be partnering with a HEN member group in each municipality to host a series of evening information meetings.
Click here for a poster with all four public meeting dates. All meetings are open to the public and free to attend.
At these meetings, you will learn about renewable energy technologies and the benefits they offer, including reducing your environmental footprint, getting paid to sell clean energy to the grid, saving money by using solar energy to help heat your water, and efficiently heating and colling your home using geoexchange systems. You will also hear about the potential for community members to buy into larger renewable energy projects.
HERE!'s Renewable Energy Technology Specialists, Graham Flint and Chris Braekevelt, will be the presenters at these meetings. Graham will speak about solar PV systems, including the popular MicroFIT program. Graham is an electrical engineer whose 10 kW ground-mounted solar PV system has recently been connected to the grid. Chris will address thermal technologies, including geothermal and solar thermal options. Chris is a mechanical engineer with experience installing geothermal systems.
HERE! is grateful to the provincial government's Community Go Green Fund for its support of this project.
