HERE!

Halton Enablers of Renewable Energy (HERE!) is the renewable energy project of the Halton Environmental Network (HEN). HERE! works with homeowners, religious institutions, condominium corporations, and businesses to help decrease their use of fossil fuels.

HERE! holds workshops and renewable energy tours to help educate the public about renewable energy programs and technologies available. Through our online directory of trusted vendors, HERE! facilitates the introduction to vendors and installers and can assist with evaluating proposals and site assessments. HERE! supports people through any challenges with the process and celebrates successes of renewable energy adopters so that other people find it easier to follow in their footsteps.

Starting August 2011, we will be working with communities across Halton and Hamilton to assist them in starting community power projects. Thanks to an education grant from the Community Energy Partnerships Program, HEN will be partnering with Environment Hamilton to promote ways to enable everyone to participate in renewable energy projects and the Green Energy Act.

HEN is pleased to have previously received grants from the Ontario government’s Community Go Green Fund (CGGF) and Environment Canada's EcoAction Community Funding Program. With this funding, HEN has been able to help people learn about renewable energy options since 2008. HERE!’s role is to ensure that Halton’s residents’ first experience with renewable energy is a positive one. We are HERE! to take the mystery out of renewable energy projects.
