RBG receives CGGF grant

May 14, 2010 No Comments by

Congratulations to the Royal Botanical Gardens for receiving a Community Go Green Fund (CGGF) grant from the Province of Ontario for six themed gardens at the central Interpretation Zone. These gardens will educate visitors on ‘carbon footprints’, ‘climate change’, ‘food miles’, and ‘the 100-mile diet’. Visitors to the gardens will learn to buy locally, grow their own food, and reduce their carbon emissions. CGGF grants are for the current government fiscal year, ending on February 28, 2011, and are for the purpose of helping individuals reduce greenhouse gases.
