All Halton schools use GreenCart

Halton Region is now the first municipality in the province to have implemented the GreenCart Organics Program in all publicly-funded schools. First implemented in 2006, the program has now been integrated into all 157 elementary and secondary schools that make up the Halton District School Board, the Halton Catholic District School Board, the Conseil Scolaire de District Catholique Centre-Sud, the Conseil Scolaire Viamonde and the Provincials Schools Branch.

 

Halton’s elementary and secondary schools are achieving waste diversion rates on average of 70 per cent, with some event reaching a 90 per cent diversion rate.
