Burlington Transit reducing service

Following a transit service review, Burlington Transit will be reducing service in low-performing areas and increasing service in high-performing areas. Burlington Transit has used results based accountability, an analytical tool, to determine the low-performing and high-performing routes. The changes are expected to generate 75,000 new rides a year. The result is an Interim Transit Plan.

Findings and recommendations from the transit service review will be referred to the Official Plan Review process now underway and the Transportation Master Plan, which begins in early 2013.

Public meetings are being held over the next few weeks to share the Interim Transit Plan:
