Oakville battles Emerald Ash Borer

May 09, 2012 No Comments by

Infestation by the Emerald Ash Borer is expected to force the Town of Oakville to cut down approximately 8,700 ash trees in its parks and along its roads over the next half a dozen years.

The Town of Oakville has approved a budget of $1.4 million to fight EAB in 2012. Approximately 3,300 ash trees on public land will receive the treatment from one of the town’s service providers before the end of August. Residents are being asked to make a decision now about what they want to do with their ash trees.
